The French River Musky Opener has become one of the most anticipated fishing weekends of the season.
What It’s All About
Every season, anglers from across Ontario come together at the Tilted Toque to kick off musky season on the French River.
It’s a weekend built around chasing musky, connecting with other anglers, sharing stories from the water, and starting the season the right way.
It’s also something more. The French River Musky Opener has grown into a community-driven event, where all proceeds from our raffle table, silent auction, and remaining ticket funds are donated to Dokis First Nation, supporting initiatives like the Dokis Food Bank, the Leonard Dokis Foundation, the Dokis Childrens Hockey League and more.
For many, it’s become an annual tradition. Not just for the fishing, but for the people, the atmosphere, and the chance to be part of something meaningful.
What the Weekend Includes
- Musky opener weekend on the Upper French River
- Guest speakers and industry guests
- Raffle table and silent auction
- Insane Loot Bags with Merch, Musky Baits and more
- Trophy and bragging rights
- Dockside hangouts and community food feasts
- A great group of like-minded anglers

More Than Just Fishing
The French River Musky Opener is about more than just the weekend.
Each year, all proceeds from our raffle table, silent auction, and remaining ticket funds are donated to Dokis First Nation, supporting initiatives such as the Dokis Food Bank and the Leonard Dokis Foundation.
It’s a small way for all of us to give back to the community that surrounds this incredible river.
